Our Schools

Tamboerskloof Explore + Discover Montessori Preschool opened in January 2002. Situated under the luxurious views of Table Mountain and Signal Hill also overlooking the Central Business District (CBD) and close to the Atlantic Seaboard.

Children generally start at our school when they are aged 18 months.

Most parents live very close by. Because of the wonderful area we live in, we generally have children from a diverse backgrounds. For us, different languages, cultures, nationalities and religions only serve to enrich the learning environment.

With much excitement, Explore + Discover Montessori Preschool has opened its Mowbray Campus in 2015. The school offers a Montessori programme for toddlers and children aged from 12 months to 6 years old.

Set in a beautiful Victorian home, surrounded by lush gardens, Explore + Discover Mowbray campus is ideally situated to allow ease of access to surrounding areas such as: Rosebank, Rondebosch, Woodstock, Groote Schuur Hospital, UCT, Observatory, Cape Town CBD and a zip over the freeway into Vredehoek. For your convenience, we are open year-round including school holiday care (except in'December and January).

About Us

For us, it is essential that children are educated in a caring and supportive environment. Not only are the children encouraged to work and play together, but by keeping our school small we have also developed a wonderful sense of community among the school’s parents and school team.

We apply Montessori principles to instill in each child the love of learning that is at the heart of Montessori education.

Our staff has many years' experience in preschool teaching.

Our Owner and Head of Schools, Debbie Mauerberger trained at London's St. Nicholas Montessori College and has worked in both the Montessori and state educational sector. She works alongside Montessori-trained teachers, assistants and classroom helpers to ensure that every child is able to develop at his or her own pace.
